Pipe rotators are employed in fabrication and production workplaces where high-quality welding is required for a variety of industrial tasks. Kistler offers a range of pipe rotators designed to improve efficiency and simplify welding processes. To meet a variety of industrial needs, U-series pipe rotators are offered in a range of weight capacities. Pipe rotators are made expressly to weld circular objects, such as pipes. Welders can focus on the welding process itself using these pipe rotators, which improve workmanship and decrease the need for human handling. Kistler pipe rotators are reliable and strong solutions that may enhance your welding processes, regardless of whether you require a three-ton or single-drive model.

Rotators are mechanical tools that rotate cylindrical workpieces throughout the welding, manufacturing, and assembly operations. They are also known as pipe rotators or tank rotating rolls. This robust equipment is usually used for large-scale projects that require the welding of cylindrical components such as storage tanks, pipelines, and pressure vessels. Welding rotators consist of a set of rollers or wheels mounted on movable arms that cradle and rotate the workpiece. The smooth rotation of the welding process is facilitated by the rollers. Some welding rotators must be operated manually, while others may be powered by motors for automated rotation, depending on the model and purpose.

Kistler rotators are capable of pipe spooling, pile joining, and pressure vessels weighing 500 kg to 5,00,000 kg. We can help you choose the ideal rotator for the task. To meet the needs of the majority, we could modify our products.

Kistler pipe rotators enhance output, minimize handling, boost security, and enhance the reliability and caliber of cylindrical vessel welding. For any type of application, Kistler has a rotating solution, ranging from small diameter pipes to the massive monopile structures seen in wind tower turbines.

Pipe Rotators of the U-Range U150 / U150H

The tilting drive and the electric control are housed in the frame. The tilting angle is approximately 135°, and it can be done manually (U 150 and U 500) or mechanically (U 1000, optional U 500). The holding column, clamping arm, drive and roller box, and pressure roller make up the tilting portion.

There is also a non-tilting version of this machine (designation: U 150H, U 500H, U 1000H). The U-series electric controls and drives are typically housed in a control panel or a frame for protection.

ELECTRIC CONTROL

A remote foot switch is used to turn on and off the machine, which has settings for rotary speed and direction at its front. Further options of electric control:

a) A separate foot-operated control unit. A foot switch is used to turn the device on and off as well as to change the direction of rotation. A foot control roller is used to control the rotational speed.

b) The welder wears a helmet or shield to control the on/off and rotational direction of the machine. The machine sets the rotating speed.

c) Turning direction and turning speed are set on a remote hand pendant.

APPLICATIONS

For manually or automatically clamping, rotating, and tilting pipes with round profiles during manual or automated welding; mostly used in plant manufacturing and pipe building (prefabrication and on-site assembly).

This machine is not only very inexpensive (one handed operation, no interruptions from repeatedly moving the pipe to be welded), but it also improves quality because there are no joint disruptions, and the pipe is consistently maintained in a precise horizontal position.

ELECTRIC CONTROL

A remote foot switch is used to turn on and off the machine, which has settings for rotary speed and direction at its front.

Further options of electric control:

a) independent foot-operated control unit. A foot switch controls the device's on/off and direction of rotation, while a foot control roller modifies the device's rotating speed.

b) Switching on and off as well as changing the direction of rotation is carried out from the welder’s helmet or shield.

This machine not only delivers advances in quality (no interruptions in the junction and continuous, exact horizontal position of the pipe), but it is also very economical (single handed operation, no interruptions due to repeated turning of the pipe to be welded).

The welder wears a helmet or shield to control the on/off and rotational direction of the machine. The machine sets the rotating speed.

The machine's front is where the rotary speed and direction are controlled, and it has a on and off switch.

Further options of electric control:

a) Separate foot operated control unit (see illustration U 500, photo on this page). Switching on and off and changing the direction of rotation takes place by a foot switch, the rotary speed is adjusted by a foot control roller.

b) Switching on and off as well as changing the direction of rotation is carried out from the welder’s helmet or shield. The rotary speed is set at the machine.
